DEED OF ADOPTION.
1, Yin Lam, paternal elder uncle of the 21st generation in descent, a member of the clan of Ancestor Kuk Ting, and others, are the makers of this deed of adoption, which is in connection
with the selection of a successor to my deceased 5th younger
brother Wo Lam and his wife Ng Shi, in order that the rites may be performed in the ancestral hall.

Our original Ancestor was Kwai Kau Long, from whom was descended King Seu, Ancestor of the 9th generation, who had 4 sons to wit 1st son Kwai Ting, 2nd son Chung Shan, 3rd son Kuk Ting, and
4th son Tui Shan.

But the 5th deceased younger brother, Wo Lam, has as yet no heir to succeed him in performing the rites in the ancestral
and hall. His wife, Ng Shi, has often, lately, been ill, desires to adopt a proper heir to succeed her husband. There is, however, no suitable one among the near relatives descended from our father. We have therefore been compelled to hold a meeting in the ancestral hall of the two Ancestors, Kuk Ting, and Tui Shan, and it has been satisfactorily arranged that if a member of the proper degree of kinship is willing to be adopted as heir
